# Aurora Subtitles

## What it does

Aurora provides local-first live captions and real-time translation from Windows system audio, microphone audio or Both (experimental). It displays results in a configurable click-through overlay. In Both mode, microphone events stay separate in Session Activity and do not appear in the overlay.

## Presets and fit

- Maximum Compatibility: CPU-only transcription and translation from English audio into 51 published target languages.
- Maximum Quality: a separate set of 51 selectable languages, with GPU acceleration when available and automatic CPU fallback.
- Use cases include Discord voice chat, games, meetings, streams, anime and series subtitles over system audio, online classes, language learning and general hearing-support workflows.

Maximum Compatibility uses English source audio and offers 51 published target languages without requiring a GPU. The current product language list is the canonical source for the exact destinations.

## Requirements and limits

Windows 11 64-bit and a modern multi-core CPU are required. A GPU is optional; performance, memory and disk usage depend on hardware, audio and selected local models. Language support depends on the preset. Aurora is not a medical device, legally required accommodation or professional interpretation service.

Aurora is Early Access with a one-time payment, lifetime license for the current product and Early Access updates included. Final price and currency appear at checkout.
