Setting up live captions should not require a detailed understanding of your computer. Aurora Subtitles now includes a simplified mode that detects the available hardware and automatically suggests a suitable configuration to get started.

Aurora chooses a sensible starting point

When simplified mode opens, Aurora checks the graphics resources available on the PC. If it finds a compatible GPU with enough capacity, it can select the option designed for higher quality. If it does not, Aurora uses the CPU-optimized configuration.

The goal is not to hide information. It is to prevent a technical choice from becoming a barrier. You can focus on what matters: selecting the audio, choosing the languages, and starting the captions.

Fewer controls, the same essential workflow

The new view brings the main actions together in a more direct interface. You can choose languages, start or stop captions, check the current status, and adjust the basic appearance. Aurora prepares the remaining settings with defaults designed for comfortable reading from the first session.

If you need more control, you can switch to advanced mode. The choice is not permanent: simplified mode provides a faster path, while advanced mode keeps the detailed options available for specific workflows.

A choice that adapts to the PC

Automatic detection avoids assuming that every computer has the same hardware. An office laptop can begin with the CPU-optimized route, while a PC with a compatible GPU can take advantage of it without asking the user to identify graphics models or memory specifications.

Performance still depends on the computer, language pair, and audio quality. Detection provides a sensible starting point rather than a promise of identical speed or accuracy on every PC.
