Your voice stays out of the overlay: check it before sharing session text

Review the session you will share, beyond what you saw
In Aurora, Both mode separates system audio and microphone capture. Microphone text stays out of the overlay but can be included in session text when that source is selected. Seeing only the other voice’s captions is therefore insufficient to decide that a file is ready to send. Open the exported text and check its contents before sharing.
Consider a fictional practice session: you play a question from a video and say aloud, “I need to review that example.” The overlay is not a complete inventory of everything that may enter the session. If your voice was transcribed in Both, that aside can appear alongside text from the other source. This is an invented illustration, not a real conversation or an application test.
Three checks before preparing a copy
- Identify whether the session used system audio, microphone or Both. Do not infer the source from the last window’s appearance.
- Read the complete file and find your contributions, test comments and references you do not want to share. Check recognition errors too: text does not certify what was said.
- If you need a version for another person, prepare and review a copy in a text editor you choose. Decide what context to retain so that an excerpt does not change the meaning. Reopen the copy before sending it.
This process does not presume that Aurora has a button to anonymise, redact or approve the file automatically. Keep a working version deliberately if needed; do not send an original out of habit or turn an uncertain phrase into an attributed quotation.
Text, recording and assistance are separate decisions
The Aurora facts page documents session text including microphone and Both, and optional OGG recording of the selected source. Reviewing text is different from reviewing audio. It also does not determine what context you share with optional Codex assistance, a separate network feature from the local caption and translation core.
For other approaches, read the official Chrome captions guide and Windows Live Captions guide. They do not establish identical exports or microphone rules. The concrete decision here is to inspect the content you choose to take out of your Aurora session.
Choose the next step for your purpose
If you only need to follow one voice, first review which source you need to capture. If you want text to share, choose its recipient and contents before preparing a copy. Check the product page and current download for requirements and licensing. The cover is an illustrative scene, without software UI or a real person’s file.
