Taking your laptop: one Aurora licence still covers one PC

AI-generated image; illustrative scene.
Copying the installer does not expand the licence
An Aurora Subtitles licence is valid for one Windows installation on one PC. If you use a desktop and prepare a laptop for travel, copying the installer does not establish that the second installation is covered. Clarify the intended device and your licence scope before depending on it.
The official download requires activation with the licence received after purchase. This guide promises neither a transfer procedure, remote deactivation nor automatic second activation. Ask support about your case before treating it as settled.
Two devices need separate preparation
In our fictional example, you follow talks on a home PC and want to take a laptop away. Keep two lists:
| Home device | Travel laptop |
|---|---|
| Which installation you currently use | Which device you intend to use away |
| Which licence applies to that installation | Which authorisation you need to clarify first |
| Which setup you already know | Which compatibility, models and languages need checking there |
Do not put keys in shared notes or publish them when asking for help. Explain that you have an existing installation and plan to use another device without disclosing the complete key in a public conversation.
Prepare the chosen device before you need it
- Review the laptop requirements: the download documents 64-bit Windows 11. A working home PC does not verify a different computer.
- Clarify licensing for your situation. When asking about a device change or reinstall, describe the actual change and wait for the specific answer; download availability is not additional authorisation.
- Use the official installer and documented activation for the appropriate device. Retain purchase details privately.
- Prepare models, audio source and language pair before travelling. Activation, licence validation and model setup can require internet.
- Review a familiar talk on that device, noting any observed errors or delay. A home-PC check does not guarantee another device’s performance.
Choose which part of Aurora you need too
The product facts distinguish the local caption and translation core from optional Codex assistance. Assistance needs internet, an account, access and available usage limits of its own; buying Aurora does not include unlimited Codex access. Choosing a laptop and clarifying its licence does not itself resolve that separate dependency.
Windows Live Captions and Chrome Live Caption were consulted on 25 October 2026 as other caption workflows, without claiming equivalent licensing or features. Start from Aurora’s official site and support contact: a specific device, clarified licensing and preparation before departure.
